Apolipoproteins are the main protein that forms lipoproteins — these transport fat, like cholesterol, around your body. Apolipoproteins are a better predictor of your heart disease risk than LDL cholesterol alone.

Vitamin D is an essential nutrient for your health throughout menopause. Lower oestrogen levels can cause your bones to become weaker — increasing your risk of osteoporosis (brittle bones).

Your thyroid is a gland that controls your body’s processes. Thyroid conditions can increase your risk of osteoporosis and heart disease. An overactive thyroid causes similar symptoms to menopause — like heavy periods, fatigue, and brain fog.

Why can't this test diagnose menopause?
Menopause is a clinical diagnosis.
You've reached menopause if:
- you're over age 45
- have menopausal symptoms
- haven't had a period for 12 months
- you aren't using hormonal contraception
There’s no single blood test to diagnose menopause. This is because your hormones fluctuate throughout perimenopause and menopause. So your results won’t give you an accurate picture or valuable insights.
When should you do this blood test?
Great news — you can take this test anytime during the month.
We recommend fasting (not eating) for 8 hours before doing this test. Collect your sample in the morning for the most accurate results.
Who's this test suitable for?
This test is suitable if you’re perimenopausal or have reached menopause.
What doesn't this test tell you?
This package tests for risk factors associated with menopause but can’t diagnose it. You should see your GP to discuss treatment options if menopause symptoms affect your life.
