How it works

What your year looks like

A year-round programme that learns with you — built around your blood, shaped by your goals, and guided by experts. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Your first test

Set your baseline

Your first test of the year is your deep one — 33 markers across eight health areas. An annual checkpoint that builds the full picture, and the reference point for spotting subtle signals the rest of the year and beyond.

What your baseline covers
Your first test gives a detailed picture of where your health stand today. It covers 33 markers — each one chosen because it tells us something useful about how your body is working right now. We go beyond standard blood panels.
Lipids
11 markers
Lipids are the fats and cholesterol your body uses to build cells and store energy. Their balance is a strong predictor of long-term heart and blood vessel health.
Cholesterol
HDL cholesterol
LDL cholesterol
Non-HDL cholesterol
Triglycerides
Triglyceride/HDL ratio
Total cholesterol/HDL ratio
Apolipoprotein A1
Apolipoprotein B
ApoB:ApoA ratio
Lipoprotein(a) (add-on test)
Blood sugar
1 marker
Your average blood sugar over recent months is a core measure of metabolic health. Persistently raised levels are an early signal of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes risk.
HbA1c
Kidney function
3 markers
Your kidneys filter waste, balance fluids, and help regulate your blood pressure around the clock. These markers can flag changes before symptoms show up.
Uric acid
Creatinine
Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR)
Sex hormones
4 markers
Sex hormones shape your energy, mood, libido, and muscle and bone strength. Tracking them gives context for changes you can feel but can't always explain.
Testosterone
Testosterone profile (free or unbound)
Free androgen index
SHBG
Micronutrients
4 markers
Micronutrients are the vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids your body needs daily but can't make itself. Even small shortfalls can drain your energy, immunity, and focus.
Active B12
Folate
Ferritin
Vitamin D
Liver function
7 markers
Your liver handles hundreds of jobs, from processing food and drink to clearing out toxins. These markers show how well it's coping with the workload.
Alanine transferase
Alkaline phosphatase
Gamma-GT
Bilirubin
Albumin
Globulin
Total protein
Thyroid function
2 markers
Your thyroid sets the pace your body runs at — affecting energy, weight, mood, and temperature. Small imbalances can leave you feeling flat, foggy, or out of sync.
Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH)
Free thyroxine (FT4)
Inflammation
1 marker
Inflammation is your immune system at work. Short bursts protect you, but low-level chronic inflammation is linked to long-term disease — and this is your clearest window into it.
hs-CRP

Setting your direction

The long view, and the next step.

Before anything else, we ask what long-term health looks like for you. More energy? Keeping up with your kids, or your grandkids? Still strong at seventy? From there, we help you set the focus for the months ahead. The one or two areas most worth your attention, and the small changes that would move you forwards. A consultation with our doctors is included, if you want it.

Doctor reporting

Your results, explained

Every set of blood test results is reviewed by a Thriva doctor in plain English: what's on track, what's worth watching, and what areas would make the biggest difference if you acted on them. When everything looks good, we say so. And if anything warrants a GP or insurer conversation, we'll give you a clear handoff.

Between tests
Year-round, a step ahead.
Three tests a year is the rhythm. The rest of the year is where our support comes in.
Always-on Health Assistant

Ask about training, sleep, nutrition, supplements — things your blood tests flagged or anything you're unsure about. The answer is specific to you because it's built on what's actually going on with your body.

Proactive insights

We don’t add to the health noise. When a change we spot connects to your goals, we surface it — with context on why it matters and what to do about it.

Your health, all in one place

Blood results, wearable data, and physical metrics — across hormones, immune defence, strength, metabolism, mind, and heart health.

Your year

A programme that gets smarter over time

Every follow-up is shaped by what your previous results showed — retesting what needs attention, confirming what’s improving, and exploring new areas when the time is right.

Month 1

Your baseline

A deep panel across 33 markers, paired with your wearable and your health history. Doctor-reviewed. A 1:1 consultation there if you want it.

Months 2-4

Guidance and tracking

The handful of changes that actually matter for your body, surfaced when they're relevant. Your Health Assistant on hand for guidance along the way.

Month 5

Your first check-in.

A second test, chosen by Thriva's clinical intelligence. Retests what needs watching, adds what your baseline said was worth a closer look, drops what's clearly settled.

Month 6-8

Evidence it's working.

Guidance informed by two sets of results. Your Health Assistant connects the dots between where you were, how you're living, and where you're heading.

Month 9

Your second check-in

A third test that focuses the programme again. What's changed, what's working, what to focus on next.

Month 12

A year ahead of where you started.

Twelve months of knowing what your body actually needs. Ready for a new baseline, to track what’s improved and build up an annual signal, so you stay ahead of your health for the long term.

Your testing evolves because your health does. And it gets more useful over time.
