How do I book an appointment?
1. Complete the clinic request form and pick your preferred location.
2. Pay for your appointment.
3. Follow the email instructions on how to book your appointment — sent to you at sign-up. If you have any questions, please get in touch with our customer experience team at venousbookings@thriva.co — we'd be happy to help.
Can I book an appointment on any day of the week?
Our clinics offer appointments Monday to Friday between 10 am and 4 pm. Some clinics also offer weekend appointments.
Refer to our clinic finder to pick your preferred location.
Some of our clinics are walk-in only, so you won't need to make an appointment before visiting.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
We recommend drinking lots of water the evening before and on the morning of your appointment. Hydration prevents dizziness and helps blood flow more easily when collecting your sample.
You might consider wearing loose-fitting sleeves — the trained medical practitioner will take a blood sample from inside your arm.
Do I need to fast (not eat) before my appointment?
Fasting (not eating or drinking anything except water) helps you get the most accurate results.
We recommend fasting if you’re testing the following health markers:
We recommend a morning appointment if you test your thyroid profile or testosterone levels.
You must book an appointment before 11 am if your test includes testosterone — when your levels are most stable.
What should I bring to my appointment?
1. Thriva venous test kit — this should arrive at your address within 2-3 working days once ordered, but it can be longer due to Royal Mail Strikes. We’ll keep you updated with any changes to your delivery date. Don’t open your test kit before your appointment.
2. Payment confirmation email with your customer reference number — our customer experience team will send this to you. You must show this email and bring your venous test kit to the appointment. The clinic won't be able to collect your sample without both of these.
What if the healthcare practitioner can't get enough blood?
It’s rare, but this can sometimes result from dehydration, causing your blood vessels to constrict. This is why we recommend drinking lots of water before your appointment. It can also sometimes happen if you feel cold or have hard-to-find veins.
If the healthcare professional can’t take your blood sample on the first go, they'll try a second time only if you’re comfortable.
If it’s not possible to collect your sample on the second attempt, please contact our customer services team at venousbooking@thriva.co for advice on the next steps.
My venous kit hasn't arrived — what should I do?
If your venous kit hasn’t arrived within 10 business days of ordering, please contact venousbookings@thriva.co
If your venous kit hasn’t arrived 48 hours before your appointment, please email your home visit provider to rearrange your appointment to avoid cancellation fees. The medical practitioner can’t take your sample without your venous test kit.
Sending back your blood sample
Post your sample the same day you took it. If you can't do this, store it at room temperature and pop them in the post the next day.
Posting your sample back on a weekday (Monday to Friday) to avoid delays over the weekend is best.
Post your sample via your nearest priority postbox. These postboxes are collected most frequently.
We'll email you to let you know the lab has received your sample, and your results are ready to view online.
Cancellation policy
You must give the clinic 48 hours notice if you can't make your appointment. Call the same number you made the booking.
If you fail to inform the clinic of your cancellation or don’t attend your appointment, you won’t receive a refund.
Late cancellations aren’t eligible for refunds. Any late change requests will incur the total cost of your appointment.
How do I request a home visit?
1. Complete the home visit request form.
2. Pay for your appointment — our customer experience team will contact you by email to process your payment. You must pay online before booking your appointment.
3. Book your appointment — one of our independent partners will contact you by phone to arrange your home visit. Please allow 2 to 3 working days for them to contact you.
Can I book a home visit on any day of the week?
You can book a home visit Monday to Friday between 8.30 am and 6 pm and Saturday to Sunday between 9 am and 5 pm.
We recommend booking a weekday appointment to avoid delays in getting your results.
